Bucks County, PA. based roots rock band THE MARK has released their sophomore studio effort, “Could Not Be Denied” on their own F Flat Records imprint. This is the first CD to feature drummer Jeff Walter, who also produced & engineered the effort. “Could Not Be Denied” is the follow up to their debut CD from 2006, “Plain As Day”. This CD finds the band firing on all cylinders. Beautiful melodies merging with soaring lead guitar tone and eclectic songwriting take the listener on a trip through varying styles of American music. The songs are heavy on the roots rock blues based tradition with nods to classic country and jazz along with impassioned ballads and classic pop rock pieces which touch listeners on many different levels.

 

The release was recorded live with minimal overdubbing entirely in the band’s home studio outside of Philadelphia & features such stand out tracks as ‘Break Before You Bend’, ‘Can’t Go Back’, ‘I Wanna Know’ & ‘Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark’. An eclectic release, “Could Not Be Denied” stretches from bouncy country with ‘On My Way’ to the Who like raucousness of ‘Take It, Shape It’ making several stops in between.

New Release and CA performance




Tom performs the classic Allman Brothers song ‘One Way Out’ with the AIMM All Star Band at the 2008 NAMM show at the Hilton Ballroom in Anaheim Ca. This special performance before 300 music industry people helped celebrate AIMM’s 10 years of excellence in their mission to help develop and grow the music industry. The performance was recorded and filmed and copies are sure to surface at some point.



The band consisted of musicians from all over the country:

Tom Appleton- Vocals & Acoustic Guitar

Mark Amentt- Bass Guitar

Rick Pearle- Electric Guitar

Tony Windle- Keyboards

Kip Williams- Drums

Joe Lamond- Drums



The Mark can also be found on AIMM’s first compilation release “Common Ground“ released January 15th 2008. Their song “All Night Long” is a preview of what can be heard on their forthcoming release “Could Not Be Denied.” Release date TBA.
